I spent much of my youth in the Adirondack Mountains, and even trained for SpecWar selection there, running up and down the mountainside wearing a backpack with 60 pounds of weights. I'll be leaving Sunday for a week of R&R at our cottage there with the Clan O'Abbotts, which means the "Spectickles" Cartoon A Day will be on hold for that week - there's no internet and barely any cellphone coverage. But in the meantime, here's the cartoon for the day:
I'm most certainly biased, but it's my belief the United States is the most magnificent and unique nation in history - we were born in the name of freedom. Wishing all a happy, safe, Independence Day weekend!
Want to know something super cool? Of course you do. My very first book is on sale now through Willow Creek Press. If you’re seen walking with it, people will think you’re very smart. Click on the image below to be taken to a magical place where you too can own this book. It may be delivered via unicorn – not sure.
I really like the gag-line of this cartoon, but I'm not really pleased with the art - this is one I wish I had the time to redraw. My wife stills thinks it's funny - it passed the chuckle test - so unless I get lots of future idle time, it'll have to remain as is. Hope you enjoy!
